Maverick wasn’t very thrilled when he got the call from his management that they had setup someone for him to see, someone to draw attention away from all of the things he’d done lately. They mainly didn’t like the press that was coming at them because Maverick kept talking to this girl who was seeing someone. They knew they couldn’t get him to not talk to her, but giving him a girlfriend would help the rumors.
He threw out a casual yet nice outfit, got into his mustang and arrived outside of Reese’s apartment, texting her that he was outside. He knew it wasn’t very gentlemanly, but he honestly didn’t care right now.

It didn't take long for Reese to set up his camera, and then he was calling Zeph. It'd been a couple days since they were actually able to talk, he had a busy week and all he wanted to do was unwind and talk to his boyfriend. He smiled once he saw the blond's face on the screen, indicating he had accepted the call. "Hey." He said softly, toying with his hair.
" can i help you?"
Scared didn't even begin to describe how Reese felt. Thankfully he got to Asher's car and smashed one of the windows to move him over and rive to the hospital, but it was in the moments when he was racing through the streets to get there that he wasn't sure if the boy next to him was even going to live. And getting to the hospital was only half the battle. When he finally got there and half carried, half dragged Asher through the doors, and told the doctors that swarmed him what happened, the boy was whisked away, and that was the last Reese saw of him.
He refused to leave. Even when the people told him he wasn't allowed to stay. he wouldn't leave until he was assured that his friend was going to live and that he wasn't dead.
It was a few hours later when he found out that Asher had been transferred to the rehab center on the other side of town. He still had the keys to Asher's car- the one with the broken window, Reese though, and smacked himself in the head. He would get it fixed. He wasn't sure how, he barely had enough money to pay rent and feed himself, but he would live off of mac and cheese for as long as he had to to pay to get the car fixed.
It only took about fifteen minutes to get to the center off the freeway. Reese parked the car and marched into the building, and it only took ten minutes of arguing with a lady at the desk before he was taken to the room Asher was in.
"Uh, h-hey, Ash.."
