their relationship shouldn’t have started to begin with. and it shouldn’t have continued throughout the weeks. what had begun as a DISTRACTION from emotional pain blossomed into something much more resembling a relationship. one that he’d been determined to avoid; whether with liza, or anybody else. and with the situation they’d found themselves in beyond their own connection ; people around them nearing the brink of death, you’d think their focus would’ve swayed. but instead, the opposite seemed to be set in motion. moments given to rest were dedicated to each other, the pair spending more time in each other’s arms than they did apart. and right now was no different. a door locked and the furniture placed with the intention of offering their energy back was used for the waste of it. mickey didn’t feel anything for liza; not in the way she’d like, not in the way he most likely SHOULD. but adrenaline pumping & emotions amplified as a result, caused the older’s judgment to be clouded. finding himself EXHAUSTED from past act ; the brunet laid beside the younger as he allowed himself a moment to catch his breath. though lips quickly returned to liza, winding up in the crook of her neck. features lingering against ivory skin, and eyes closed. ‘ we should get back to work. ’ the older spoke against the warmth of her frame, tone hushed. as if the CHAOTIC WORLD beyond a wooden door would register the volume of his voice.
