Looking at her makes him uncomfortable. There is a static in his head, a fuzzy image, and he sees these ... these faces. Women, muddled and brutalized. How did they get that way? Her VIOLENCE causes him to shrink away. She’s like him, though, she can’t control it.
He finds himself sympathetic to that notion.
Eddie approaches her with great caution. It’s not fear, exactly -- he just wants to test the water carefully, avoid catching her in a foul mood. ( It’s like avoiding his mother. Tip-toeing around the hall, peeking around the corner into the kitchen just as a cabinet SLAMS and he jumps, shrinking away from the sound and heart racing in his ear when he realizes -- )
He shakes the memory, and the impression, from his head but the static remains.
When Eddie finally finds her, he turns on the most charming smile he can manage. Half his mouth doesn’t smile right anymore. ( He tries not to be shy about it. ) She’s barely wearing any clothes, so he’s careful not to let his eyes wander away from her face.
“ You know, I bet I could make something fashionable out of some drapes in one of these realms. “ He gestures proudly to the suit, stitched and patched, but fashionable all things considered. “ I made this from scraps ... I could make you something. “
