As a draughtsman Voysey was fastidious and economical, paring down his designs to their most concentrated form, Drawing on a limited pool of recurrent motifs, he reduced individual elements to their essence, flattening the surface to produce stencil-like effects, emphasizing outline, eliminating shading, and minimizing detail.
