I cannot understand any variant of Johnny, Pony, and Dally being shipped. Like, I can see the vision, but man, it does not speak to me. This is especially odd because I do not interact with the musical (which is apparently more platonic? idk haven't seen it). Something about shipping the three of them in any capacity rubs me the wrong way personally. I can't put my finger on what though. I have nothing against anyone who does ship them, but I just can't jive with it for some reason.
