“One day we’ll all look out for each other,” Ralf sighed, looking off as though he could already see the future he was talking about. “It won’t matter what sort of downworlder they are, when one of us is in need we’ll just help and if we were in need they’d do the same.”

“Camille’s beautiful and extremely clever,” and Ralf spoke her name like one would their god’s. “I would spend my life with her if she would allow it, though we’ve not yet spoken of what becomes of us when I grow old.” Werewolves and Vampires fought because of that, because what the vampires curse stole from the mortals it infected the werewolves kept and what it granted in exchanged for that loss the werewolves didn’t get. “And maybe in the future I want to help bring about we can be together openly.”
“Camille is a tricky one, she’s clever and beautiful but not so clever as she thinks.” Alexei chuckled. “I like her of course, if I didn’t I would have killed her along with her little pet dog to make certain the clan knew it was not allowed. She really is like a child who brought home a stray and tried to hide it from me.”
“I’m rather well off actually,” Ralf wasn’t even certain where the assumption that his kind couldn’t be successful financially came from. Honestly young vampires probably were more likely to be poor since werewolves could keep an actual job in the mundane world.

“Yes, and I politely made my disinterest clear,” Ralf sighed. He would love to be able to be out in the open with their relationship but that would not be safe with how relations were between him and Alexei. For now they just had to be satisfied with these secretive dates that only his little brother was aware of. “As far as they’re aware I’m a wealthy bachelor and the alpha of the pack, there are going to be people who will want to try and flirt with me. I’m sure you’ve been flirted with plenty of times since we’ve been together. I just trust you not to do anything with those people except maybe feed off them if they’re humans.”
“The pack will listen to me, even if there are those like my brother who aren’t exactly enthused by the prospect.”
“I honestly want the Accords to work. I just want them to actually work and not be yet another way for shadowhunters to oppress downworlders.”
