“Is there something you want of me or are you merely trying to interrupt my duties,” his job did not allow for much socializing, he had to insure the safety of his king(no matter who the king may be). Sure he had breaks technically but he never really spent any more time away than his bodys basic needs required.

Kieran: “Why don’t you have any free time, every other redcap gets at least three hours of not working and not doing essential things like sleeping.”

Winter: “It’s not in the schedule.”

Kieran: “General Winter, you’re in charge of making the schedule. You need to have time to yourself. Working all the time isn’t healthy. If you keep it up I will order you to take a break.”

“The King ordered me to take a day off, apparently taking time off to sleep doesn’t count as having a break from work.”

Okay I can’t find it but at some point I saw a post talking about how the concept of bodyguards is filled with potential for both romantic and platonic relationships to fester and Winter is high key upset about it.

Heddwyn: “You need to at least take a walk with me.”

Winter: “I’m working.”

Heddwyn: “Yeah well if I tell tad I want you to come with me then you’ll be doing it anyways, you can even say you’re still working if you want to.”

I’ve talked about this before but Winter and Heddwyn get along swimmingly, though they often annoy him by slipping or, more often because they know the guards are semi-necessary, sleeping with their redcap guards. The two of them have even hung out during his off hours which is a big deal because he almost never is away from work for long.
