It's been almost a year since I've finished campaign 2 and it hasn't really left me since. I can't wait for the animated show!! āØ

who needs caffeine when you have critical role campaign 2 episode 123
Critical Roleās fights cannot be as long in animation as they are in the stream. They just cannot. And even if they could, they shouldnāt, because itād be a massive slog in that context.
However.... some battles need to feel long, even if theyāre not. They need to feel tense and dangerous, like you just want them to end already. Not in a boring way, but in a suspenseful, scared for characters you love way.
The final battle of campaign 2 is an obvious pick. But there are others in that campaign that come to mind besides that one.
Let's talk about one of them.
(Spoilers for Campaign 2, specifically the last arc, below.)
Samfit update! Keeping up with the shirt bit, he's wearing a t-shirt with a young Travis in it, not matching the t-shirt he wore in c2e119 that featured Taliesin, but heās matching the one he wore in episode 123, also featuring Travis:
thinking about how funny extract aspects would be in world as a concept (rewatching c2e123, the lucien fight after gelidon and it made me think of this)
like imagine you're mid fight, this monk starts hitting you more times than you can even see and just starts yelling 'they're resistant to fire and immune to blah blah oh and also can't be charmed or stunned or this or that!'
like you get into a fight and learn more about yourself in 6 seconds than you do at most doctor appointments. like they rocked your shit so hard they could probably tell you if you have kidney stones or an iron deficiency like 2 weeks before you even notice
early diagnostic system and it's just getting beat up by a monk
I love how shocked the cast/the Nein are that Caduceus would, in castingĀ āHarm,ā permanently maim Gelidon, like they never would have seen it coming, despite him threatening to murder their personal enemies several times in front of them
Itās literally like
The Mighty Nein: This is our cow man! Look at his lil :3 face!
Caduceus @ ppl who have hurt TM9:
The Mighty Nein: Isnāt he sweet :)
