The Laughing Hand was so powerful, so terrifying, and so unbeatable that the ancient mages of yesteryear could only banish him, after trying and failing many times to uncover what might finish him for good.

And the Mighty Nein are about to stumble into the key to killing him, by sheer coincidence, through an ancient magical artefact known for KILLING MAGES

that they’ve been calling “The Happy Fun Ball of Tricks”

which they got from a giggly excitable gnome called Twiggy who just gave it to them

These assholes are hyper competent as long as they have no idea what they’re doing.
