Caroline's Cluster, C58 // Gary Imm

This "beautiful cluster of pretty compressed stars", to quote its discoverer Caroline Herschel (1750-1848), is located about 3,700 light years from Earth is the constellation of Canis Major, the Greater Dog. Caroline's Cluster (NGC 2360) is a relatively intermediate-aged open cluster, clocking in at about 2.2 billion years old. It is most easily observed during the winter in the northern hemisphere.
