Closer and closer to mimicking the music of the SNES! Been trying to get a good choir instrument. The first sample was made from a Gregorian Chant, but after cutting it down to the proper length for SNES and downsampling it, it ended up sounding like a choir of demons. The next one came from a Tibetan monk vocoder program, and that one ended up sounding like horrifying belching or a singing duck on any note except C5. Finally found a good choir VST, which worked a lot better!
This whole SNES-ish music thing is an experiment--the plan it to merge two styles of music in the final soundtrack (SNES and GameBoy/NES). Dunno if it will work, but we’ll see...
At any rate, still working on getting the process down and writing a TON of material. More to come!
