It had been a few weeks since Leightyn’s embarrassing breakdown to Rhett, but she was thankful that he had given her a second chance despite her previous behavior. She made a promise to him and herself that she was going to be better this time around, and she wouldn’t allow her insecurities and anxiety get the best of her as she didn’t want to ruin the best thing that had happened to her. The femme allowed her blue hues to glance around the crowded room as excited fans were located everywhere. Leightyn knew that fan meet and greets were a part of the lifestyle when it came to dating a professional baseball player, but she didn’t realize just how many fans there were. She was never a fan of large crowds, but she wanted to be there to support her boyfriend so she was mustering the bravest face that she could find while she silently prayed for it to end. Her attention was brought back from her thoughts when she felt an arm snake around her waist, pulling a smile from her features when she noticed that it was the male’s. The dark haired female leaned into his embrace as she nuzzled her nose against his neck softly. “Are you having fun, babe?” Leightyn asked as she pressed a soft kiss to his skin before turning her attention back to the fans that were waiting their turn to get the players’ autographs.

Leightyn had no clue as to how this happened. Well, she did, but she thought they had been more careful. A nervous sigh escaped her lips as she glanced up at Caspian while her fingers fidgeted in front of her. “So, um, there’s a minor issue, sort of,” she stammered as she cleared her throat and glanced down at the ground beneath her. Leightyn was nervous to tell him because she didn’t want to lose him or for him to be mad at her. “I’m sort of pregnant,” she muttered and peeked up at him through her eyelashes.

One. Two. Three. It had been three times that the waiter asked if Leightyn was ready to order, and every time she politely declined and apologized that her boyfriend was taking so long. She glanced around the restaurant as the other customers were sneaking glances her way and offering her sympathetic looks that made her want to curl up in a ball and cry. Leightyn allowed a defeated sigh to escape her parted lips as she tried focusing on the menu in front of her, but was too busy checking her phone every five seconds to see if Kevin had texted her back or not. She felt tears begin to well up in her eyes as she took a deep breath and began to gather her belongings as she was about to get up and leave.
