I will strike for Lucky content in the black!au king. Give us ur onions pls if u can 👁👅👁 🍑
As he's settled into a more normal life in LA, Buck has gotten sloppy. He doesn't watch his back the same way, and is usually too consumed by his loved ones to actually pay attention to the extra set of eyes on him at the park with with his husband and son. It's kind of bullshit that he has those things now, but Lucky digresses. This isn't the point. She should've known he'd eventually settle down as if nothing had ever happened.
As if he didn't do what he did.
She's been inside his house twice now- of course, not when he was home or even in the state. That would be showing her hand too quickly. In fact, she's only gone in when all three residents are out of the house. There are photos on the walls, some of which even contain Buck as if he's a real part of this family unit. It's laughable. He's not capable of loving anyone other than himself.
This, right here, is the riskiest thing she's ever done. If Buck were to see her lingering around the firehouse, he'd have her head on a fucking platter. Lucky rather likes having it attached to her neck still. But she has to watch, to learn, to strategize, because she can't do anything with an incomplete understanding of the people involved. Research is the first part of any successful mission.
Eddie Diaz is driving Buck's jeep. She expects him to be careless in the way all civilians are, but when he sees her leaning against a lamp post on the sidewalk, pretending to text, he cautiously approaches her.
"Do you need help, miss?"
"No, just texting my mom."
He nods and studies her. "You seem familiar. Have we met?"
"I don't think so."
Eddie presses his lips together and fakes a smile. "Well, it's getting dark, you shouldn't be out on your own. Let us know if you need anything- station 118."
"I'll keep it in mind, thanks."
Spotted, Lucky is forced to move along and regroup somewhere safe. She pockets her phone and gets ready to leave, only for Eddie to ask her to wait.
"What did you say your name was?"
"Oh, everyone just calls me Lucky. Sounds a lot like Buckley, doesn't it?" His face goes white as a sheet and she smiles. "Have a great night, Eddie."
