The shooting arc is so important to me cause

• buck being completely covered in eddie's blood?

• the shot where they're just standing looking at each other?

• them continuously looking at each other???

• eddie reaching for buck???

• buck worried out if his mind lifting eddie in the truck??

• eddie (the one who was shot btw) asking buck if he's hurt???

• buck's hands shaking??

• buck breaking down and crying when he tells chris?

• buck staying with chris in eddie's house??

• bobby's speach to athen about losing the person you love during the episodes where buddie is so important and pivotal??

• carla being worried for buck and asking him how it is to be back at work (meaning cause there is a fucking shooter) and buck immediately answering that it's not the same without eddie??

• buck putting himself in so much danger???

• i was just the guy standing there who couldn't do anything to protect him?????

• buck completely forgetting about taylor when ana calls him from the hospital??

• eddie's face when buck says it would've been better if it was him who was shot?????

• because, evan?????

obviously calling buck a deadbeat dad in the grocery store ("do you know how much chris misses you" ) was eddie using chris as an excuse to not have to say do you know how much AYE miss you. but to the extent any of that was actually about chris... how much of that was just eddie's internalized self-hate and guilt being projected as anger at buck. because buck didn't actually owe it to chris to be a constant in his life. it's giving just started dating a single dad ''you can't take becoming part of his life lightly, he can't lose another parent figure'' vibes, which isn't the situation here (or is it... 🤔). but eddie's the one who DID leave chris, as his actual parent, so he's very aware of the fact that BOTH of chris' parents failed him at different points, which is why he's so sensitive to buck doing it to him again. which is a completely unfair thing to put on buck, as dads friend from work of 1.5 years.

but where it gets delicious, in their classic freak4freak manner, is that buck AGREES with him. and very sincerely apologises for being a deadbeat partner/dad to eddie and chris. again, i cannot emphasize this enough, as dads friend from work of 1.5 years.

I honestly dont Really go here anymore I'm sorry! And I'm definitely not up to date on lone star so there likely wont be further from me on the matter, aside from maybe a lonestar character or two appearing in a crossover crackfic.

1. How many works on ao3?

I have 202 works hosted across four Ao3 accounts. For ease of operation, I'll be doing other stats from my main Ao3, gapsinthedays, which hosts 164 of these works.

2. Total Ao3 word count?

778,174

3. Top Five Fics by Kudos?

4. What fandoms do you write for?

Actively, not much! More recently I've done some hazbin hotel, and I also have a crackfic crossover in progress on an alt account.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try. I really do try but sometimes they slip through the depression cracks 😔 I do read every comment though, usually multiple times.

6. Angstiest ending?

Where do I start? I'm known for unhappy endings, I fear. I think my most tragic story is In Loving Memory.

7. Happiest ending?

I have some here and there, but the first to come to mind is Sanctified Be Thy Holy Name, a collab with my friend biweatherman!

8. Do you get hate?

Not these days, but I got harassed relentlessly when I switched from straight x-reader content to gay character x character, and I've had specific works people hate. Exposure is probably my most hated fic of all time, but chiefly by people who did not read it.

9. Do you write smut?

It accounts for like, half of my work.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Not often, but I think of them frequently and love to read them. I have an archived tumblr account with over 100 crossover fics on it :) and my only fic wip is a crossover.

11. Ever had a fic stolen?

Yes. Repeatedly.

12. Ever had a fic translated?

No, but I would be happy to grant permission if a translator asked!

13. Ever co-written fic?

Yes! I don't do so anymore but I used to do lots of collaborations as a teenager.

14. All time favorite ship?

How could you ask this of me. How could you do it. How could you even- dorisi

15. Wips you want to finish but doubt you will?

All of my ongoing AUs, but especially Chess Games and i need something bigger than the sky. I probably won't finish anything besides my current crossover, as I've shifted my focus into original writing! These days I have novels in development and I co-write for a podcast.

16. Writing strengths?

I think imagery and figurative language are my strongest points.

17. Writing weaknesses?

Dialogue. I don't understand how people talk to each other irl let alone in media.

18. Thoughts on mixed-language dialogue?

Honestly, I rarely see it done well. I'm not that good at it myself either, but what can you do!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically, The Hunger Games when I was in elementary school and didn't know what fanfiction was yet. My first completed and posted fic was spn/destiel.

20. Favorite fic you've ever written?

In Loving Memory (linked above) is probably my favorite, but I have a special place in my heart for my AUs.

wait 911 au where bobby & athena are rival firehouse captains. i’m splitting the team up for this too. hen & eddie with athena, buck & chimney with bobby. calls like the one in jinx where another firehouse had to rescue the 118 from inside their own engine would be so funny here. and ofc they still fall in love, get married, etc they’re just still very competitive. also athena isnt a cop 🙏 so that’s a win in itself.

madney are so so so great because they're such a silly goofy almost sitcom-y couple who get extended comedy sequences where they commit accidental tax fraud or are hiding in the bathroom from the nanny that they hired because they're too afraid to tell her to stop cleaning their apartment etc. that is until one or both of them are in danger in which case they both immediately become the most intense and devoted motherfuckers ever to grace our television screens.
