So I feel bad about not posting anything College Age in a while, but I'm whiny and bitter and don't want to deal with Talia/Cass right now (yesterday's suit thing doesn't count).
This definitely doesn't have to be considered canon (an AU for the AU?) but I'm showering you all with some more Amelia love.
Dean of the College of Natural Sciences was a weighty title, and Amelia still wasn't certain how she felt about it.
It was her first year at Ferelden U -- a school she'd always considered to be, in a word, provincial. The irony wasn't lost on her; the school she'd spent most of her career publicly despising offering her a position she wasn't able to turn down. The title of dean, along with the pay raise and some very convincing arguments from her old colleagues, hadn't left much room for debate.
Of course, she'd miss her old classes; this semester, she was only teaching one, a boringly simple intro-level class on plant biology -- not her first choice, but the only thing they'd approved for her first semester.
The only upside to the entire ordeal, as far as Amelia was concerned, was the prevalence of the M.A.G.E. group on campus. There was a meeting being held shortly after her first class of the semester, and she intended to go -- there was nothing that excited her the way nature and M.A.G.E. rallies could.
She headed straight back to her over-priced condo outside of campus as soon as class was over, grabbing some food before checking over her appearance. Retying her hair into a neat bun, smoothing down her blue pencil skirt, and straightening her white top, Amelia grabbed her blazer and glasses and slipped into her heels.
It was an odd combination of excitement and anxiety that filled Amelia as she walked to the rally. But it wasn't at all like she'd expected.
Standing atop a table were two men; the blonde was shouting into a megaphone, which was continually tugged aside for the brunette to yell into. Campus security had already swarmed the place, and from the looks of it, had already made an arrest. The entire place was chaos.
Dean of the College of Natural Sciences was a weighty title, and Amelia was certain she regretted it.
