Movie Night

The opening music was already playing when the microwave shut off. "Pause it! Pause it!" Talia called, grabbing the popcorn from the microwave and dumping it into a second bowl.
The music paused and Cassandra called, "Hurry up, then."
"You could make your own popcorn next time," Talia shot back.
From beside her, Zevran laughed. "It seems the two of us are always doing favors for grumpy girlfriends, hmm?"
"Yeah. But -- Oh! Remember Cass doesn't want marshmallows in her cocoa." Plucking out the single marshmallow that had tumbled out of the bag and into Cassandra's mug, Talia popped it into her mouth and continued, "But they need some reason to keep us around."
"Yes, I'm getting the feeling that Toy Story was your choice, not Cassandra's."
Picking up the two bowls, Talia grinned. "You would be correct." Zevran followed her into the other room, handing out the mugs of cocoa and taking a seat next to Rosaia on the couch. Handing one of the bowls to Zevran, Talia plopped down on the floor next to Cassandra, fluffing the pillows around her until she was comfortable and pulling a blanket up around her and Cass before taking her own mug of cocoa.
Cassandra unpaused the movie, then leaned over to whisper, "I know this is your favorite movie, but the Buzz Lightyear boxers are a bit much."
"Why don't you come take them off, if they bother you so much?"
Cass and Rosaia groaned in unison, while Zevran stifled a laugh.
Talia took a sip of her cocoa and snuggled back against her girlfriend, letting her head rest on her shoulder. "Complain all you want, but we both know this is better than studying."
"I'm sure my grades agree."
"I'm sure they do," she agreed innocently, already calculating how best to convince Cass to watch Toy Story 2 with her.
