something i noticed about civil war is that tony only brings up his father when he wants something from steve. and it happens twice. 

he brings the pen his father used waaaaaay back in the forties, when steve knew him when he wanted steve to sign the accords.

he brings up the fact that his father made the shield, and how he doesn’t deserve it only after he won’t give up his oldest friend, his one connection to the life he used to have.

this is gross and manipulative.
