making fun of percy for eating a lot is genuinely insane because like 1. being poor obviously and the trauma you get around food because of it and 2. literally like I havent seen the posts but I didn’t doubt it for a second seeing the way people pick and choose what to pay attention to in the books..... like I’ve seen more outrage over some of the dumbest things than over actual issues

ok i proposed the jfk is gay thing to my friend (jfk hater and fellow history buff) and he said that he doubted jfk was even a little gay (i argued something about him being straight and he conceded) and i was worried he was gonna say some Shit but then he just said "actually, buchanan might've been gay" so here's my idea: presidents, ranked by whether they were tops or bottoms

main theme of hoo: something something... found families? idk, i don't feel like there was an Overarching theme or message, but i did think that each individual character did? like, jason's about finding your place in the world and duty and responsibility and stuff, frank is about adaptability and unlikely solutions, etc

yes! i definitely agree when it comes to the characters, they each had clear issues that they were dealing with and had to resolve (whether or not that happened is up to the reader themselves) but in my ya lit class we were having a discussion on required reading and what makes them good and how certain books are timeless and what they need to be timeless. and i was sitting there thinking about how percy jackson and the olympians has a lot of good messages and themes that make it timeless and give it the ability to appeal to readers over large amounts of time and then it dawned on me

heroes of olympus doesn’t have a solid base theme
