~ FLIGHT ATTENDANT TRAINING, Final Thoughts ~

It’s hard to believe training is over. Even harder to believe I passed everything. Had I known I’d be going through such a rigorous training a year ago, I would have chickened-out, convinced I’d never pass.

But here I am, a Flight Attendant, on my way to my new base in Orlando, FL, days away from my Initial Operating Experience.

I think I’m in some type of minimal shock. It just hasn’t sunken in yet. As I’m typing this, I’m on one of our planes, staring at the working Flight Attendants in awe, thinking: “I’m about to start doing that.” I can’t believe it.

To think, I went from this lifestyle being a mere pipe dream four months ago, to graduating from inflight training…it’s just too crazy. I keep thinking I’m about to wake up with a start, stuck at my station in a Michigan credit union, thoroughly bored and disappointed with my life. But no, this is real. Through hard work, dedication, and a lot of resolve, I made it real. I changed my life. I left my “safe” job, got rid of all my furniture and possessions, vacated my apartment, left my car with my brother, flew 1200 miles to Denver, and graduated from training. I did that. Me. The girl who gets anxiety about buying a new pair of shoes. And that means: anyone can do it. But you can’t, you won’t, unless you really want to.

Here, above the clouds, in my new (ultra cool) “office,” I have the most overwhelming feeling of peace. It may have taken me a long time, but my adventure, my LIFE, starts now. And if I’ve been inspirational to even one other person, I will consider this blog a complete success.

** Allegiant Airlines Update **

I just applied to Allegiant yesterday, and today at 4:30 pm I received an email invitation to complete a video interview!! So exciting, and so unexpected! Allegiant likes doing things quickly, apparently, as I only have 48 hours to do the interview and submit it. Ahh!! Pressure, pressure! My brother is a lifesaver, though, and I'll be going to his place after work tomorrow to get it recorded and on its way! Thanks, bro! I can't believe all the opportunities I'm getting. This is more than I could have hoped for! Let's fly! 10.7.16
