Everybody knows a grommet is a small ring of plastic or rubber or metal, designed to protect wires and cables from scratches or chemical accidents. Cable grommets come in different types such as round grommet, brush sealed grommet, wooden grommet, oval grommet, stainless steel grommet and many more.
Conventional grommets are generally made of plastics and available in a variety of shapes and sizes. You have often heard the term that is ‘Cable Port’. It is quite similar to the cable grommet. Basically, ‘Cable Port’ is just an alternative term for a cable grommet. In most of the cases, the first thing to consider when selecting cable ports or grommets is the shape. They are widely available in different profiles and shapes. The round shape is the most common type, but they are also made for rectangular, square, oval, etc. If a hole is already drilled in your worktop or desk, you should know which shape you will need.
