this is from an au i made up forever ago called the tampered!moonstone au, where varian gets the moonstone and tries to study it first, tampering with its powers and accidentally infusing the moonstone's powers with his alchemy because i think pink and green black rocks that explode and catch fire and emit noxious gasses is a cool idea :)
