During the last few days I have had the opportunity to participate in the organization of the Civil Association “Empresa Campesina Cata” which was founded in 1964. All members were able to participate in the re-election of the new Board of Directors which supported my vision of sustainable agriculture in its entirety. - Challenges are good, but in order to move forward there is a possibility that we must leave some things behind, in order to follow the path towards a better future. More than ever, our country Venezuela needs its small farmers to be better organized, and this is the change for a planned and sustainable agriculture. - This past July 22, 2020, the Civil Association “Empresa Campesina Cata” and its associates held a General Assembly with the objective of electing the new Board of Directors from 2020 to 2023. - By unanimity and in recognition of the work done in recent years in our community I was elected as the main Director. Villagers in Cata are happy, they began to read part of the regional history of cocoa. “Cata 1610 we grow cocoa" is a book that strengthens the roots of its people and contributes to highlight, know the history of cocoa in Cata Bay connecting with its roots. - I have given to each one of the people who make life around the cocoa of Cata. Over 30 children have already received the book and with great enthusiasm, joy and interest have sat and read it, and have seen themselves reflected in each photograph. It' s important to emphasize the fact that part of this inspiration lies in creating a sense of belonging and encouraging reading within the small communities; because education is the seed of change. - So far, I have been able to deliver 140 books to the population and with them sow the seed of change by creating interest in history, knowing their roots as well as transmitting the importance of "Education". - I can say that after 10 years of sharing with the community I have a part of my heart here in this land, here in this forest I keep my memory, here in my country Venezuela I sow the future and I have confidence that little by little we will build a better society. - I am pleased to share with you some photos of the community together with the book, and soon I will be sharing more stories with you. - #CacaoMar #OrigenCata #Cata1610 #SembramosFuturo #Venezuela (en Cata, Aragua, Venezuela) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCepz5AHl-n/?igshid=1wyea1ho7yx1o
