Hi! Can I ask how you divided tcoptp into five books? Cause I usually see four (three hawkings years plus gap year)

hi! yes of course

i divided the third year into two parts since it’s really long, so:

first volume is first year + summer (1-30)

second volume is second year (31-64)

third volume is summer before third year + the beginning of third year (65-82)

fourth volume is the rest of third year (83-96)

and fifth is gap year (97-108)

and i put in the b-sides chronologically throughout

how did you manage to create a typeset for tcoptp bcs i'm wanting to do the same but i'm literally a hermit I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING

ok hi sorry i haven't replied sooner but here we go

honestly? just go for it! it's a bit scary because of how long the fic is, but just start looking for a style you like and learn how to work with Word or whatever you use for typesettings. if you're having trouble you can always look for tutorials, theres so much information out there and everyone's really nice, so don't be scared to ask questions.

also, remember that at the end of the day you're dealing with something you love. it took me months to make my typesetting, and it was frustrating and so so much fun because i was doing something new that was all mine, by me, for me.

so yes, it's long and new and scary but also, it's tcoptp!! it's the most wonderfully crafted story, and now you get to make your own version of it and put your focus on it and spend more time with it and that is just so exciting (in my opinion at least).

i also started from nothing and it's the first binding of anything i've ever done, and it’s not perfect and not professional in any way, but i love it soso much because it's mine.

so my advice is: don't be scared, take your time, find a good playlist to listen to, and enjoy it.

but in all seriousness i want to thank this story that is engraved in my brain forever. really. it means so much to me. mot, you are one of the most skilled writers i’ve had the pleasure of encountering, the amount of love you put into this piece is out of this world.

this little project took me so long to complete, wayyy longer than in took to actually read the whole thing. i just had to do it justice because it really is my favorite book i’ve ever read. i’m so happy with the result and can’t wait to read it again for the millionth time.
