The moment you look back on last weeks session chat and you know you did a good DM thing.
I am currently infatuated with Danyla's back tattoos and must now bug you with a question :P. Do they have any backstory or meaning? Or did she get them because they look rad?
I’m glad you like them, that means I’ve done a good job of designing them! (It was hard, graphic design is... not my passion, actually) And questions about my ocs are almost never gonna bug me
The answer is... kinda spoilery, I guess?? Like, its not Deep or anything, but for those in the same campaign as me, imma put it underneath here in case y’all wanna find out organically:
Got to meet Threnn's mentor, Kitheros, during dnd today
They're very fey, trickstery and whimsical, and act as a sort of guardian for Threnn's home, The Walking Wood, which is a forest thats very mysterious and... alive. And cool Very cool
Having a character who's completed a dnd campaign at level 20 is wild and being that character must be even moreso because the sort of stuff you gotta face at epic level is so insane but you just gotta like. Keep going I guess
So like, you're at a fancy party just chillin and suddenly you remember there's an alternate dimension where even the gods are different bc you had to kill a guy that broke through and couldn't get back, or that theres a city in the astral sea thats completely empty except for a bunch of mirrors that contain the corrupted souls of its previous residents, or that the empress of your homeland has been replaced with someone else whos more politically amenable and no one knows about it because you and your friends disposed of her corpse during one of your multiple governmental coups. Also you and your friends have all died at least once and probably shouldn't really be alive. And also you're technically a blood golem that's held together and given life by your patron goddess and without her influence you would eventually turn into a puddle and lose sentience.
But then you're like, "Oh, time to not think about all that for a while. This wine is pretty nice." and go about your business.
Threnn is coming back to our dnd campaign soon, and while she's been gone she's been hanging out with a group of pirates, so she gets a pirate look for now 👀
Some other Threnn party looks pre and post corpse eating (after getting cleaned up and borrowing one of the host's dresses)
Going back to our main campaign next week so I drew Threnn's new armor!
I have greatly missed my misanthropic elf
