and also thank you to @caesarsaladinn for informing me of the Ames Monument.
A regional administrator of the Infrastructure Corps gets a call from the foreman for unit 231.
“Sir, the workers found a pyramid,” the foreman says breathlessly.
“A pyramid,” the admin repeats, “in the middle of Wyoming.”
“Yes, sir. The, um, the laborers have started worshipping it.”
“Of course they have. And the security team…?”
“Also worshipping the pyramid, sir. They say it protects them from the harsh winds.”
The admin took a deep, slow breath in through his nose, then let it out in a quiet sigh. “Has it interfered with the work site in any way?”
“No, sir. It’s not in the way of any planned construction. Nobody’s stopped working, they’re just…” the foreman trailed off.
“Worshipping the pyramid.”
“Worshipping the pyramid, yeah.”
The admin let out another sigh. “Fine. As long as it’s not interfering with their work, they are authorized to worship the pyramid.”
“Thank you, sir. We’re very grateful. I mean they.”
