BRAN — 8w7 - the independent (determined, natural leader, charismatic, sociable, self-confident and ambitious)
CAES — this is hard but I thiiiink 3w4 - the professional (dedicated, stubborn, seeking, afraid of failure)

CAES — I associate him with cream, gold, black, and a deep royal blue. his favorite color isssssss I don’t know. either gold or purple? maybe purple.
☝️the first scheme for caes and minah xx
oh boy!! // first times meme
CAES + scheming
before the magic and the lessons and aneleus' favor, when he was just a lowly house slave who slept in the kitchens with all the other lowly house slaves and sleeping arrangements were decided by favor and seniority, caes arranged for another one of the boys—a year or so older than him, liked well enough to avoid the grind of chopping vegetables and washing dishes in favor of running plates too and from the dining room—to have an accident. nothing serious, but a worn-out sandal strap and the overturned corner of a rug were enough to send the boy down with the master’s favorite porcelain on a night when he had guests to attend. the head of the kitchens had words and a birch for the boy, and caes was called in to replace him, careful to avoid the shards of dinnerware strewn across the carpet as he carried wine and dates and grape leaves in a tunic far nicer than any he’d ever owned. it was too bad for the boy, really, but caes enjoyed sleeping closer to the hearth after that
MINAH + scheming
[redacted]
pulled out caes' character sheet to check something and immediately missed playing a caster sooooo bad

In the waters, I see a face I don't want to look back Do you like my dress? It's got pockets The rocks beneath my feet begin to crack Oh, I look into the waters, long ago that current caught us And we tried, I tried, I really fucking tried But the rain kept coming down, I watched that woman drown
VESPER — midnight moon - oh wonder

Untouchable I live for this I breathe for this You know I bleed for this
1, 12, 25, 32 for minah, kol + caes!
thank you!! // oc ask game
1. are they associated with a certain color? what color do they wear the most?
MINAH — minah’s got a warm browns/reds palette—ocher, red ocher, (burnt) sienna, gold highlights, etc. she wore a lot of browns and reds with the orchestra but with the wardens she’s shifted more towards darker/richer browns and blues (very dusky blues. dark, stealthy blues.)
KOL — I associate her with white and grey. she wears mostly black and white and, in a past life, red. one day she’ll earn some more color but she doesn’t really have that much going on right now
CAES — caes’s color palette is blue, cream and gold (I think those might be house nivaeum’s colors? I can’t be bothered to find my notes right now), but I see him shifting towards more black, purple and gold as he slips out from the shadow of house nivaeum
2, 14, 17 for Caesonius, Minah and Narayani?
ty!! // oc asks childhood edition
2. Where did your muse grow up? What was their home like? Did they like where they grew up?
CAESONIUS — grew up in Vyrantium, first in his family's meager lodgings and then in the house of Magister Aneleus when his older brother sold him into slavery to pay off a gambling debt. neither was great—the first was in poor condition and he had to deal with his brother's frequent gambling and unsavory companions; the second was his master's house, where he was afforded a cell of a room and endless obligations. but he also received an education and training and power, so between the two... well, he got what he wanted eventually MINAH — minah grew up in the Free Marches. she had a pleasant home life; she got along with her family and had her own room and she could go down to the river when she wanted to. she was happy there. NARAYANI — rani grew up on the move with her clan, which was a small but tight-knit community, and one she liked. she had, if not an interesting childhood, at least a happy one—which is honestly maybe better
14. Who was a mentor or a hero to your muse as a kid? Why did your muse look up to them and what did your muse learn from them? How is that relationship now?
CAESONIUS — absolutely not a hero, but Magister Aneleus was certainly a mentor. he taught caes magic, and cruelty, and ambition, and the machinations of power. in return, caes helped drive his house to ruin and killed his children. so it goes. MINAH — minah really looked up to her dad. he had a strong work ethic and cared about the community and knew loads (from her young and un-worldly perspective), and she'd spend hours traipsing after him, soaking up everything he had to offer. his death really messed her up. NARAYANI — of all the clan elders, Iravel was the one she looked up to most—something about the old woman's personality, her patience, and her stubborn pride spoke to little rani. they had a fight shortly after rani became a hunter, a mission she'd accepted that Iravel disagreed with. rani went anyway, and when she got back afterwards (flushed with pride and success, hands bloodied for the first but not the last time), Iravel had passed. she regrets not resolving that argument before Iravel's death, though she doesn't regret accepting the hunt. this was the first snapping thread between her and the clan, though she didn't realize it til years later.
17. How is your muse with kids now? Do they want kids of their own? What lessons from their childhood would they pass on to the next generation?
CAESONIUS — simply wouldn't know what to do with a child if he saw one. he's been around kids, vaguely—some of the other slaves had children; some of the other slaves were children—but he outgrew that long ago and has no interest in dealing with kids. the only lessons he has to pass on are sharp, and even he knows better than inflicting them upon a child. MINAH — there were always kids coming to see the Orchestra's shows, so she's got some familiarity with entertaining and humoring children. she also (once upon a time) really wanted kids of her own. these days, she's a little iffy about them (she doesn't want any herself), but she's still pretty good with 'em. she's not sure she has any lessons of her own worth passing on—maybe remembering to tip entertainers? (I guess her advice to loras—to be his own man, that he doesn't have to be what his father was—is its own sort of lesson.) NARAYANI — rani's spent a bit of time around kids and has taught a lesson or two to apprentice hunters—it's impossible to avoid children in the clan—but she's not interested in having children and is just a little awkward around them. her own childhood feels ages ago, and it's a little uncomfortable to be reminded of the hollowness it carries in her memories
