what we also like about it is the silence in the store, since it is a study/working hub and the wide variety of menu to choose from (⸝⸝ ♡﹏♡⸝⸝)

This is the outside area of a cafe in my neighborhood that was incredibly beautiful. I was seriously so lucky about where I was placed to live when I came to work in Daegu.
This place is very dreamy. The whole cafe was a reconstructed hanok (which is a Korean traditonal house) so there’s a very vintage vibe going on with old cameras inside and a record player. The owner and staff were all handsome and kind, the interior was beautiful and rustic, and their desserts (especially the carrot cake) was really great...and I don’t even eat dessert much at all.
The mini hanok room photographed here is actually a private room, separate from the rest of the cafe. It would usually be taken by a couple or a small group of friends (seated maximum of 4) and people would usually wait on a list and take turns having a more private and quiet time away from the bustling cafe.
I got to sit in here once, and I actually prefer sitting inside of the cafe. I felt burdened having the staff bring our drinks and dessert all the way outside, and it felt as if everyone was waiting for us to finish so it could be their turn. Also, it felt eerily quiet in there, even with some music on. No thanks!

The decor was really cute, but the wait for food was really long, given the huge queue, and the panicking staff.
The two of us got full on the ribs (there’s hollandaise sauce in the egg container) and the ramen-looking dessert, which is actually a mont blanc on top of a chocolate cake, covered with earl grey jelly. The tofu is a pudding with cookie crumbs!
The ribs were tender, but I wish a little more ‘egginess’ could have gone into the dish, aside from the plate decor. Perhaps some tamago furikake/soboro on the fries? Also, @hungryleow didn’t really like the hollandaise sauce, but I dipped everything into it. Yum.
As for the ramen dessert, the earl grey jelly and the chestnut cream were perfect, but the cake underneath it got really heavy on the stomach quickly. I would eat it again if it were the tofu pudding underneath it because that was really nice too. The white chocolate was a bit hard to bite, but I understand that you have to have an egg in there somehow. Also, this dessert gets really messy when shared, so make sure that your relationship with whoever you go with is strong enough to survive that. Lol.
For those wondering, "nua" is a local word that literally means soft, but is also used as such: “I just want to nua on the bed", which means “I just want to lie on the bed in a semi-solid state, and not be able to do anything for the whole day.” Quite like gudetama himself.
I would only go again after the hype dies down (probably in a year or so), and with the Bottomless Pit because the portions are quite big, and only on special occasions because it’s quite pricey - that main and the dessert cost us SGD 70 (50 USD). It’s also better to go in pairs than as a group because there’s more pair seating.
I just graduated from college and the twists of fate have quite overwhelmed me, both pleasantly and repulsively. There’s always two sides of the coin, right? When you graduate, you become free from all the academic responsibilities, yet, you become fully exposed to the realities of this damned world, as you were previously sheltered by the four walls of your classroom. Circumstances may be too much engulfing, but the point is, it is you who have a hold over your stability, your fate. So, I go to see cafés as a form of a breather. Recently, The Studio Art Café opened its doors and the social media photos were inviting enough for me to try the place.
Judging from the name, itself, the place gives a “were offering more than just food, were offering a lifestyle” kind of impression. And, so it was! I mean social media shaped the competition among businesses. The most Instagrammable places become the most sought after spots. Call it the vanity of this generation, the millenials, others will consider it as an opportunity – a shift in their marketing strategy. The ones with the freshest ideas attract the more people. And, this café used art through murals and furnishings on point at their advantage.
One notable piece was a wall vibrantly painted with a mellow image and an eye-catching calligraphy. Truly, there’s more to art than just a humdrum exhibition. There is self-expression. Thus, I find it as a very moving and a pleasure-seeking one, at the same time.
Adding to their nicety as a remarkable café is their display of live plants. I was just amazed by this act since I’m used to places with decorative plants made of plastics. Aside from those, the ambiance is also flattered with the respite brought by the tones of pastel colors used.
They serve hot/brewed and iced coffees, milk shakes, milk teas, lemonades, pancakes, pastas, spicy ramen, fries n’ nachos, and sandwiches. Meanwhile, I treated myself with their tuna in olive oil pasta and iced pink latte. The pasta, cooked al dente, was a winner for its complementing flavors of basil and olive oil. A chic place and some options of good food at the most reasonable and student-friendly prices, what more could you ask?
To get the best out of cafés, I often ask in advance for their opening time. I deem that such is an opportunity to relish in the uncrowdedness of the place, to get as much pictures as I want, and to experience the amenities of the place all to myself. Hence, try out The Studio Art Café as they open everyday from 10 am to 8:30 pm. They are located at 3rd Floor, Marcos Building, Corrales Ave., Cagayan de Oro.

From Plato’s The Divided Line to sheer films and series we love to grab a popcorn with, the land of dreams is a vast place of unknown subtleties and experiences where anything is possible as long as the rational mind of men works.
As trendy as these wildest dreams and imaginations, certain establishments try to feed one’s voracious appetite for an air of mystique through gimmicks like derived foodstuffs, collectibles, and first-hand involvements. One of which is Sugar Rush Dream Café. The first unicorn-themed café in the city offers a new kind of dining experience. It is a hoard of everything unicorn and anything that goes with it.
I and my cousin went back down memory lane to childhood fancies where everything was just carefree and colorful. What makes this café unique is that it does not just present you an array of anything unicorn, it lets you become one by lending its customers unicorn onesies, adding to a whole new different experience into the dreamland.
Along with taking a lot of blithe snapshots and selfies that can make one’s eyes satiated, make your stomach full with different fares they offer. They serve classic appetizers such as buffalo wings and chicken nuggets, rice meals, pastas, sandwiches, gourmet coffees, milk shakes, frappes, milk teas, juices, and specialty cakes.
One can never refuse how an air of mystique amazes us far from the prosaism sometimes brought by routines. It is in wandering into the vast dreamland that we gradually find ourselves. We wander through imaginations, ideas, and curiosities. Wander and let your imaginations work at Sugar Rush Dream Café. It is located at 399 Vamenta Boulevard, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro.
