I can’t believe I’m typing this, but I passed the bar!! The hell of law school is truly over. It was almost all worth it.
I’m a baby lawyer!

After 1L, I left my tumblr alone with limited interaction. I’m posting again because I need to say to my 900 or so followers to say that Black Lives Matter.
To my Black followers, especially Black law students or lawyers, I know you’re hurting.
I’m working on a resource guide with my school’s SBA. I probably won’t post it because it’s school specific and I’ve kept my identity largely secret, but to the allies following me - let’s keep working to educate ourselves and uplift the voices of our Black peers.
2020 is off to a rocky start, but I need to remember the good things:
I have my summer internship lined up at my dream place in my dream city.
I have acquired housing that is affordable and hella close to everything in said dream city.
I’m on my school’s most competitive moot court team.
I’m still with my partner (4 whole years!!), and he’s my best friend.
I’ve spent more time with more friends from law school this year - I’ve expanded my circle and I’m so happy :)
I have my health on track, even though winter always puts me in a mood ™
I’m staying grateful, humble, and happy this year. It’s the year to help others and refuse to bring harm into the world.
what is your notetaking method in class? and how do you revise your notes / material
Hi! I prefer taking notes by hand, but my professors speak too fast for me to do that. So now I type my notes into OneNote or Google docs. No method beyond that except to try and write down as much as possible.
For revisions, I go through my notes and casebooks for each topic and try to write a sample exam answer for each concept. I then compile those answers and bring them into the exam for easy access during the essay portions!
Class is back in session and 2L is significantly busier than 1L. I realize I never did a study tips guide, so if you want one, please comment on this post?
Also, probably going to do another 100 days of productivity here soon to get my schedule back on track.
Just tried cooking tofu in a cast iron skillet for the first time and almost IMMEDIATELY started a grease fire. I put it out and then called the non emergency line to have the fire dept check everything, but if that isn’t an allegory for law school and 1L, idk what is. Better not be an omen for 2L.
Headed to interviews out of town for next summer and made the very bad decision to read up on big firm layoffs during the Great Recession. I hope the next recession won’t be as bad :/
In other news, I’ll post study tips probably next week.
1L is over!!
I am so stoked. I learned so much and this year has been the absolute hardest year of my life. Every rumor spoken about law school is /true/. No one is lying.
Law school sucks.
Anyways, look for a post from me in the coming weeks - the first part will be about physically preparing yourself for law school and the second part will be about the academics of law school.
