So I just finished aot for the first time and I gotta say I loved season 4. Definitely my favorite season for reasons I'll explain later but I have to ask why does everyone hate Gabi so much.

I don't even like Gabi and im flabbergasted at the amount of hate she gets. Sasha death was definitely not handled the best but like Gabi is actually 12 and a child soldier.

Yes Gabi is very annoying especially in the beginning. But for one thing for her Sasha was a enemy responsible for killing people she knew. Yes, Sasha was just protecting her fellow soldiers and was firing under orders. But by doing so she was killing Gabi's comrades as well.

As for later when she's calling everyone an island devil and telling Kaya about their ancestors sins. You do realize its because Marley purposely brainwashed and indoctrinated the Gabi and the all the people she knows right. She is repeating the same things told to her over and over again. Why she is so insistent on being one of the good ones stems from Marley. This is all her essentially coping with the way her people are treated.

Yet all the people who complain about Gabi and how could she kill Sasha dont have even a quarter of the same hatered for Reiner, Bertholdt, or Annie. Who literally betray everyone and get several people killed or kill people. Yet, we forgive Annie for killing literally all of Levi's old squad. Reiner and Bertholdt kill Marco because they decided to talk about how they are the cause of this Trost being wrecked on a public rooftop.

They say oh they were only 12 when they attacked wall Maria or they were child soldiers they didn't know any better. But Gabi is too far because we see her indoctrination come undone in real time. Meanwhile Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt spent years with these people and still attacked and killed many. Not to hate on these characters I actually adore Reiner and Bertholdt but I do acknowledged their faults and what they have done.

I also notice that when people complain about Gabi no one mentions the guard she beat to death with a brick to get away from a prison where no one was harming her. Why is that?
