The Coffee Oracle
Divination through caffeine and chaos.
You approached the altar again this morning.
Bleary-eyed. Underslept. Betrayed by your body and the passage of time.
The Coffee Oracle was waiting. She always is.
I've realized a majority of my favorite things have peanuts in them. D:

♨ Our muses both have the same favorite coffee shop. Today it’s unusually busy and they are forced to share a table...
All she wanted was a damn cup of coffee, she thought. Why the fuck was the place so packed? Was it national Crowd Her Favorite Coffee Shop Until it Bursts at the Seams day? It must’ve been, from the looks of it. She had been standing in line for twenty minutes, she realized as she looked at the clock on her cell, exponentially longer than average.
She sighed and stood on her tiptoes, looking over the shoulder of the patron in front of her, and two other customers in front of him. She glared at the woman at the head of the line, and saw that she was texting on her cell and consequently stumbling on her order. She’d break her phone if she didn’t put it away, she thought, and she took in a deep breath to calm herself.
Some time passed (she preferred not to check just how much), and she finally came to the counter and ordered a caramel cielo, and after a much shorter wait, she received her daily dosage of caffeine and looked around for an empty table. Only, as she quickly discovered, and not to her surprise, there weren’t any. There was an empty seat in the corner, but the table was already occupied.
He was an unremarkable man, from what she saw, quiet and on the smaller side, really his only distinguishable feature she could see from across the establishment were his caterpillar eyebrows. She frowned to herself. She would hate to share a table with him, because sitting with strangers meant choppy conversation and periods of awkward silence and she would rather not suffer through that. However, walking and drinking was even more awkward.
She strode towards him, her coffee in hand, and she stood beside the empty chair across from him. “Hey, do you mind if I sit here?”
––––––– ☾ All of three weeks had gone by since the date this establishment cut the ribbon to announce the business opening. As each day continued to pass, word would spread around town about the brew this shop offered. The divine aroma of the freshly ground beans. All orders perfect on the price. They even offered a few samples of pastry treats that complement the coffee to excellence. With each factor coming into place as they were, it had come as little to no surprise that this space had been packed to the very brim with people.
For show of good faithfulness to this growing corporate, Ulquiorra had been quite fortunate enough to claim a seat to himself before the rush of patrons took into a stampede towards the counter.
With a novel at the ready in his hands, emerald eyes proceeded to pass on every murmuring voice to just focus on the text along each page. Only occasionally he would reach a hand out towards the smokey wood top table and cup his palm around the mug. He would take his time. The community still sprang into a line out the door.
This strategy set in mind to take no notice of anything around him had quickly come to a close. Without setting his eyes upon the soul who interrupted him, Ulquiorra took note of the young tone in her voice. Whomever they were, this seat clearly had been the last resort.
With his gaze drifting slowly up from his current page, Ulquiorra only then lightly nodded to ensure his answer. The young lady took her seat with no hint of honest appreciation to her thanks.
“You appear quite young to enjoy an establishment such as this.”
Not that it had been any of his business. He couldn’t have cared less.
“What is it that you have ordered?”
