Rise Leo and Donnie have been captured and separated by a shadowy organisation calling themselves the Earth Protection Force. Now it's up to Leo to work his way through a rat's maze of puzzles to find his brother and get home again.

I love this concept! The idea of Rise combined with the Portal games is brilliant, and I especially love how the setting is especially tailored to our Turtles. It's an extremely cohesive and well thought out narrative, and the tension and building inner turmoil is en pointe. I can't wait to see where this story goes!

“Forgot to knock”

It was his luck he hadn’t taken off his towel yet when the angel entered his room, since that was all he was wearing, dripping wet, hair slightly floofy after being freshly dried with a towel and blow dryer. “Did you need something cas?”

“Lucifer?” Cas called, hearing his voice bounce off the stone walls of hell. This was bad. They had to find Jack... and Sam and Dean... he had no time to be wasting away in a cell.

The familiarity of the heavy bars, confined space, and solitude hardly made them any easier to accept. As a matter of fact, it had the opposite effect on the Archangel, the shredded wisps of his remaining Grace recoiling from the scene just as the mouths of Pavlov’s dogs would salivate at the sight of their caretaker. PTSD. Humans might simplify it with such a term, but no human had ever felt this raw fear, this honest panic, or this breathtaking trepidation that now threatened to seize the Archangel and swallow him whole. 

It was Castiel’s voice that drew Lucifer out from where he had begun to retreat into his mind, and he took a long moment to really steady himself, cold eyes staring straight ahead until he was certain his own voice would not crack upon responding. 

“I’m here.” Slow, steady, solid - good. He sighed, finally rising up from the bench he’d been perched upon and moving closer to the bars that separated him from that elusive thing they called freedom. 

“If you’ve become a master of lock-picking during your partnership with the Winchesters, now would be a good time to tell me.”

Sam sagged against the door when he realized Cas had already put together what he was up to. He glanced at his desk and saw the stack of books he hadn’t managed to remove yet. The hunter sighed. “I just ... I didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up before I had a solid lead. And I didn’t want to worry you either. I know it’s dangerous to try to open a door, especially with Him being there on the other side but ...” Sam trailed off and looked at the angel. “I can’t leave here alone there.” He could feel memories creeping up on him. Sam knew exactly what it was like to be trapped alone with an enraged Lucifer. He wouldn’t have wished it on anyone. And knowing that his mom was trapped with that monster, had been for several days ...

“Cas I know what it’s like to be ... I just have to get her out. Okay?” The hunter pleaded his friend. “Dean has convinced himself that Mom is already dead but I know that she’s not. He wouldn’t ...” Sam had to stop and take a deep breath before continuing. “She’s not. So I’m going to find a way to get her out. But you can’t tell Dean. He’ll just get angry and probably try to stop us. Please Cas, I need to do this.”

Dean flinched at the touch, but before he could even wince at the pain the movement caused, the pain had faded. He took a deep breath. His side still ached, but he wasn’t sure if the bones were still broken or if it was just leftover. He could worry about it later.

He looked down again. He was free from his bonds. Relief coursed through him. He wanted to be pissed at Cas for getting him into this, but at the moment he was too grateful that he was there. He decided he could be pissed later, after Cas got him away from Alastair. Although he didn’t think he would ever feel safe again, knowing the demon was out there.

“I...think so.: He whispered, voice still cracked and broken. He started to stand and a cloud of darkness blurred his vision. He was suddenly very dizzy, and his legs felt like jello. Dean flailed for a grip on something to keep himself upright as he started to fall. His hands caught on fabric just as his vision cleared, and he found himself clinging to Cas for support.

Cas blinked at his twin, offering a gentle, content smile at his question. “I have had my faith restored, and have had my power renewed.” He said calmly.

He didn’t look any less confused, looking over the other.  He seemed fine, but something about that glow made him uneasy.  “You have?  How?  Did God do this?”
