Today I got a repertoire of bad news so I can only extend my eternal gratitude to @hannistudies for their extremely emotionally supporting delivery, including kruidnoten, the long way to a small, angry planet, and my camera (we've been apart for so long).
4. What would you describe your study method as?
To be fair, I don't have a very reliable method. I'm a learner by writing, so I usually summarize, make concept trees, and summarize again. If it's available to me, I try to practice the exam format (it makes no sense to study essay-format questions if the test is multiple choice).
- Read 100 pages of Maya Angelou's Gather Together In My Name. I love her writing so much, I think I might try to finish the book in the next few hours.
- Did some close reading and secondary reading for my Clueless essay. It seems to be coming together nicely, hopefully I can have it finished by Monday!
- Completed the grammar unit of my TEFL course (one step closer to teaching abroad!!)
- Got my pages from the Printing Press back! There's a typo in one of the lines, but I didn't set that type so I don't care 🤣
17. Have you travelled a lot? Would you like to in the future?
If you can't tell from the above, I'm planning to teach English abroad after I complete my English degree, so I'm super excited to be moving forward with that! But in general, I haven't travelled that widely. I've travelled a lot within the UK, but I've never been abroad. Some places I'd like to visit this year/ the next few years are Bath, Edinburgh, Paris and Amsterdam. Also (as its St Patrick's Day) I'd love to visit Dublin someday!
4/3- what’s your usual cafe order? Do you try different things? 95% of the time it’s a latte, either with or without some form of cake.

5/3- what are your fav shows? At the moment I’m loving catching up with death in paradise! It’s one of my absolute favs!
6/3- do you have a fab movie or do you like them by genre? Oh man I’m so not a film person. My fav atm is probs pretty woman, but I haven’t seen a film in months and I’m just not that bothered. They take too long.
ALL ABOUT HABITICA: Learn how to use the website/app
Habitica 101
Habitica is an app and website dedicated to tracking "Habits," "Dailies," and "To Do's." Habitia will "Gamify your life" as you create an avatar, level up by completing tasks, and go on quests to level up your character.
Start here
Create an avatar. When you begin, you will have a default character. As you complete tasks and quests, you can customize your character more with armor and accessories.
Mark it off
Choose some tasks for each section (Habits, Dailies, and To-Do) that are attainable but challenging. This allows you to get the feel of the app and build Habits and Dailies. I tend to add distracting things or fun hobbies to the Rewards section.
Party up
Join a party to hold yourself accountable for accomplishing tasks! You can also go on quests with your party to gain more XP, pets, and gold.
Extra Info
XP helps you level up, once you level up you gain health and gold.
You lose health if you fail to complete a task or complete a bad habit.
Gold can be used to purchase rewards, items, and health potions (to restore lost health).
Pets are from eggs which can be found by completing tasks or quests with your party.
LETS START A PARTY. REPLY OR REBLOG WITH YOUR HABITICA USERNAME
I'll be doing @caffinateef-studyblr's productivity challenge for now!
1. What's your favorite podcast?
I must say that I'm not very very big on podcasts, but Mo got me hooked on @hellofromthehallowoods, it's an amazing queer apocalyptic podcast, would 100% recommend.
Spread inspired by this one that @ juliannedoodles shared on Instagram ✨
My notes in the lab can be summarized in post-its, post-its, and more post-its. feat. A warm loaf!
8. Have you recently gotten acquainted with anybody? How did you meet them?
It's not technically new, but there's a postdoc in the lab who used to be quite standoffish. Since I started my master thesis he's been a lot nicer and he's even joked with me a couple of times.
9. Have you been anywhere recently for the first time? How was the experience?
Again, I don't know if it counts, but in my cycling workout on Saturday I went to an area in my region where I had never been! It was quite nice because there were a few hills and not that many cars.
(these are pretty boring answers, sorry! It's not the best time for me to try new things 😅)
Today I finished a puzzle on "hard mode", aka without a reference picture. It's not the prettiest, but I got it for free, so I can live with that.
2. What are you reading right now?
Well, I finished listening to "Whose body?" while finishing my puzzle - a very funny murder mystery, it was recommended to me by Meike, and I would 100% pass the recommendation on. Next on my to read "for fun" is the house in the cerulean sea and "for school" are some short stories and plays that I need to read for my exams (Bloodchild, the new dress, trifles)
Because yesterday we talked about books, I thought I could share the reading list of some of my lit classes this year (I took seven so almost half are missing, yikes). And there's a bunny cloud that I saw while on a MTB ride during the winter break!
3. What's your nighttime routine like?
Hannah, don't look.
Okay I warned you.
I brush my teeth and dive into bed, turn on a YouTube video and fall asleep 30 seconds later.
Lately I've been trying to incorporate some physical therapy for a foot injury that I've been dragging since last March, but usually I'm too exhausted to do anything elaborate.
