Caiera, in her True Form, stroked her fingers through the hair of her lover’s smaller shape. Her free hand was resting on Bryce’s lower back. It was comfortable. Caiera liked having Bryce laying on top of her. She liked the feel of her lover’s head pillowed on her chest.
“Really?” Caiera smiled though she didn’t open her eyes. “I would have thought you would feel it racing considering I am with you.”
Soothed by the gentle strokes of fingers through her hair, Bryce was quite close to dozing off. Quiet moments like these, she loved for being able to appreciate everything she already adored in her lover and to always find new thing to love. It was in one of those moments that her comment had slipped out.
“Oh, I don’t know. A slower pulse can mean that you feel content, safe, and comfortable.” Shifting her head, she nuzzled at the crook of Caiera’s neck, lips brushing over her collarbone. “But if you like, I could up the pace a little.”
