More than 120 paintings, works on paper, photographs, and other ephemera come together in this major exhibition exploring the very personal
IT'S ALMOST HERE.
I have been waiting a YEAR for this exhibit, which combines Caillebotte's paintings, sketches, and photographs from the Getty, Musee D'Orsay, and Art Institute of Chicago Museum into one massive show.
Not only will Paris Street, Rainy Day be returning to us, but (along with a bunch of other works I either have never seen or have only seen in books) The Floor Scrapers, one of my favorite paintings if not my absolute favorite painting of all time, is coming with. I've only seen it in person once, when I was in Paris two years ago, and no photograph I've ever seen has truly done it justice.
The show is open to the public beginning Sunday the 29th of June and it's only here through October 5th, so if you're in Chicago and you enjoy art, or vaguely homoerotic depictions of 19th century men, don't miss it.
