Finally, my OG emo boy! I should have drawn him in a The Smiths t-shirt but NIN is sooo much easier. Yes I have drawn Alpheus in more or less this exact same outfit. Don't @ me, it's easy and I could not be bothered drawing a second pair of boots. Maybe both the Aronnax and Alpheus' squid sub just have floors designed for wetsuit boots, who knows! Also I didn't bother flipping his hair around like I did for Alpheus because at this point Cain does not care about how he looks. and I also just could not be bothered.
Cain: Yeah so I have a job now, but the bloke who arranged it for me warned me that my boss would absolutely feed me to the sharks if I did anything to her daughter Finn: lmao, what's your job anyway? Cain: I'm interning with Kaiko Nekton on the Aronnax Finn: [✓ seen]
More projectiony stuff: Tallulah and Cain’s favourite flowers are my favourites - Cain’s favourite is orchids because they’re fancy and dramatic sometimes, Tallulah’s are violets because she likes the scent.
Dumb plot idea for my "Rosie and Cain are cousins" headcanon:
Cain's sent to Rosie's place for the holidays because his dad is sick of the drama. He takes the same train as Tallulah (because they're heading to the same town) and she assumes he's following her to be annoying, and resolves to ignore him. She ignores him so thoroughly that she doesn't notice they get off at the same stop, but he does notice her and his reaction is more along the lines of "Aw, she's stalking me <3" because he's just Like That.
They keep seeing each other around town which only solidifies their stalker misconception, and the misunderstanding isn't cleared up until they're both dragged to the park by their respective cousins for an ace gang meet-up.
(Georgia thinks the face-licking thing makes more sense now that she knows he's Rosie's cousin)

I wrote a bunch of drabbles set in the main crossover, the first two are about Tallulah and the other two are about Cain and Fontaine respectively.
WIP
A WIP of Lullah hanging out with Cain and Ruben. After the events of the fic Lullah and Cain hang out as “Friends”, with Ruben joining them because Mr Hinchcliff asked him and Seth to keep an eye on Cain after the whole goat thing. Please, no more bloodshed. The farm can’t take anymore deaths. (Seth is too busy snogging Flossie to keep an eye on Cain)
My local library got the audiobook for The Taming of the Tights recently so I borrowed it and I've been listening to it the past couple of nights.
Note 1. When I read any of Monty's lines about Sidone, I pictured him saying them the way any gay man talks about Lady Gaga or Madonna. Hearing the author herself read them out? Now I think they're a bisexual couple looking for a third.
Note 2. Tallulah talks about how rubbish the owlets are at catching mice and says she's thinking of hand-feeding them shrew snacks. Later in the book, Cain is hand feeding the owlets shrews. Coincidence? I think not.
Someone in one of my other fandoms has been doing a lot of next gen stuff and that got me thinking about how that would look for Tallulah and Cain.
Mr Hinchcliff ends up being the grandparent who gets to see the kids most often and is confused about it until he realises he's the only one who can be reliably contacted and stays put long enough.
Cain has a more solid idea of how much independence a kid can be trusted with, but gets very worried when the topic of dating comes up.
At some point their kid goes through a bad breakup and Cain is ready to go ruin the ex's day, until Tallulah asks him if he's really going to take Mary Bottomley as an example of a good parent, which knocks the wind out of his sails and then he lets Tallulah handle it.
