= A small creature catches the corner of your eye. You don't go to the woods much, you know better. Too many people have been lost to the woods, but something seems to draw you in, it makes it impossible to deny that something is calling your name. Something wishes for Cain. =
= Standing in the midst of the low hanging branches, and bark climbing ivy, stands a deer. Two antlers with prongs reaching toward the sky. The deer isn't afraid of you. He watches you with soft eyes, with doe-like lashes. He doesn't run or flee like every other deer you've met. He watches. He wishes for Cain. You blink, briefly. The deer is gone as soon as your eyes close. =
= Perhaps an omen, or a sign from God. Whatever the deer was is a memory now. Something that you'll never see again. The thick bone of the antlers that twist and knot. Deer are strange, aren't they? =

<< Cain looks to the woods, his eyes lighting up with childlike wonder. Wonder Cain hasn't experienced in a while. His eyes fall on the creature, something tender surfacing. Something Cain didn't know he was capable of. >>
<< It feels as if it's beckoning to him, it wants him to come closer. He was warned about the dangers of the woods and venturing on his own. >>
"W-what are you-?"
<< Cain remembers his lessons from his uncle, you don't rush it. You approach it slowly. Something drew him closer to the deer, something fascinated him, made him yearn for whatever this deer had to offer. He wanted to reach out to touch it, not to harm it, but to feel it there. >>
<< Cain's eyes study the deer's antlers, Cain's eyes travel down until they lock with the soft black eyes of the deer. Cain reached out, as soon as it appeared it disappeared. Cain left there reaching out for something that was no longer there. >>
<< If it was even there in the first place, Cain didn't know, and he didn't want to. He knew that the feeling it gave him was real enough. >>
<< Cain sits down into the soft bed of grass and leaves, the older leaves crunching beneath his weight. The slow cool breeze brushes his face, bringing that small, subtle lifelike movement to his hair. The wind gives him a sense of comfort before blowing elsewhere. >>

Hello Cain, what's it like living with your father? Do you know any of the kids besides your brother who were on that plane that crashed.....
<<The boy looked roughly around his empty room, since his brother’s departure he had gotten rather used to silence. Everything felt so quiet, Cain hated the silence. Cain hated the insufferable loneliness. His little sister Evelyn made the gap of his missing companion easier, but like anyone else there were things she could not do. Cain missed being able to play chess without Evelyn running off with the little wooden knights, even if it meant playing with his little brother who had thrown tiny wooden pawns at him four separate times.>>
<<The boy sat down on his bed, everything was the slightest bit cleaner with the absence. Sometimes he found himself missing Abel bringing spiders in from the garden and placing them on his shoulder, which is ridiculous considering the only person who could scream louder in that scenario was his father. He found solace in the garden, a familiarity that helped him handle constant questions from his little sister asking if they would ever see their brother again. It was something that he could mold with his own two hands, something that would crumble without his influence.>>
“I always thought my dad’s attention would fix something, make me feel better, more accomplished. But it’s painful. I don’t want attention that’s passed down to me because Abel’s gone.”
“He still calls me Abel sometimes.”
<<With the shift in question his posture softens, the expression on his face lightened up. A small smile stretched across his face.>>
“I’ve spent a lot of time with the Briggs, Pollux is a really worthy chess companion. He’s actually taught me a few techniques I didn’t know. He can even lose without indenting my forehead with flying chess pieces. Our dad’s work together, his little brother Castor was on the plane that crashed like Abel. My cousin Beckett was on the plane too I think. It’s been a while since I’ve seen him though.”
“It’s not easy sometimes to live without Abel’s constant noise, Dad doesn’t think he’s coming back. It causes arguments between my parents a lot, but uncle Francis has started coming over more frequently to help.”
“It’s just made me aware that just because my cousins are here, doesn’t make up for the lack of Abel. Even if Dad thinks it's foolish, I hold out hope that he’s okay. I miss him.. alot."
