I’ll admit this took me a bit to get into but I found myself falling in love with Clía and Ronan and the more I fell in love with them, the more hooked I became on this story.

I enjoyed the romance between these two. It was very sweet and level-headed and it felt so natural the way their feelings grew over the course of this book. Them falling in love while training with swords? Absolute perfection.

I really loved when the war plot ramped up. I was absolutely hooked, on the edge of my seat, eager to find out what was going to happen.

I could definitely see the parallels with Legally Blonde, too, which was an added delight.

Where do I even start! So I picked this up on a whim, had no idea what it was about, just thought the synopsis was cool. It was marketed to me as a romance, and don't get me wrong the romance was there! However, I appreciated it more for the fact that the romance almost felt like a subplot. While Clia and Ronan are the main points of the story, I loved that their romance didn't overwhelm the plot.

It very much lived up to the legally blonde influence and I must say that is exactly why I loved it so much. It focused more on Clia's growth and her being a BAMF while also giving that splash of romance I needed.

I also absolutely adore that the relationship between Ronan and Clia was so natural! There was no unnecessary tension, it was right where it needed to be, it gave more friends to lovers than anything. That natural progression made it so much sweeter.

Anything Cait Jacobs has coming I will be front and center for it!
