Dear Spooky Warren, I stumbled upon your sisters blog while searching for the movie Paper Towns. After reading what she wrote, I decided to do a little research and came across your blog. I want you to know first off, nobody should ever feel small based on someone else's actions or opinions, and I am truly sorry that you had such a difficult time 10 years ago. Not only am I a nerd such as yourself, but also a lesbian( sorry if you're not, but when you said you came to terms with your sexuality it seemed that way) . Being confused, sad, depressed, and lost at that age is pretty common and mean girls don't help. However, I believe you are truly being the mean girl going online and writing a very well thought blog about someone that you have actually never really known. It's also pretty mean to go on and on about someone making your life "hell" when it sounds like you want hers to be hell now. I'm assuming you're the same age as Caitlin, 22, which means your an adult. A huge problem with bullying is that kids learn from adults...isn't that what you're doing? You're trying to get the interweb to join forces and empathize with something that doesn't really seem to be relevant anymore.. sounds kinda like a bully.. I feel extremely grateful to tell you this next part.. Caitlin is actually my friend. She's not a bully, homophobic, racist, classless, cruel or any of the other bullshit accusations your making towards her. Was she a brat in middle school sometimes? Probably. Do I believe that Caitlin threw rocks at you and gave you hairbrushes? Probably not. Did you ever tell an administrator what was going on? I know you said that your mom made it so you guys wouldn't be in the same class… but if this is true, why doesnt Caitlin's mom know that? Or why did she never get in trouble? Doesn't really add up for me. You are not the only person that was "trying to figure it out." I know you're probably upset.. and you might even say that I'm "attacking you" but honestly, I'm just trying to stop the same cycle you are talking about in your post. Words are hurtful… you made that clear. "Caitlin Carver is a terrible person" is a pretty terrible thing to say when it isn't true. It's like those people that go and comment on pictures of celebrities and say that they're fat, or they should die, or that they're a slut? like, how the hell do we know? how the hell do you know that Caitlin is who you are claiming she is based on accusations that occurred when you were not even a teenager yet? I hope anyone else that reads this knows- Caitlin Carver isn't a terrible person.. but trolling and online bullying is. Please help me stop the cycle of spreading such hateful words from someone to a stranger.
