Another portrait, though this time it isnt for SWTOR, but my vampire OC storyline.
This bab, along with this tool, constantly occupy my mind with their cuteness, crazy antics or wild dancing and singing.
So, some backstory on this gal, yeah?
Katherine, Kat for short, is a teethling. What's a teethling? Well, in MY vampire story, a teethling is a person who has not been fully turned to a vampire. She has some of the "symptoms" of a vampire, being that she can heal faster than a human, ages slower and needs blood as protein. She doesnt have prominent fangs, nor has her eyes changed color. (My vamps all have bronze/golden eyes) Nor is she cold to the touch like they are.
She was bitten by Larten Crest, who falls under the role as her master, and here's the fun part. You know how in old Vampire movies they often claim that if you kill the vampire leader, everyone who's been bitten by him/her will turn back to normal, that is the case here as well, sort of. It ONLY works on teethlings. If a person has already been fully turned and their master is killed, they will stay as a vampire.
Kat was bitten at age 16, and has thus been that age for a very long time as she ages very slowly now.
She was offered the "poison" by Larten after she was hit by a drunk driven and slowly dying on the side of the road one late Halloween night.
Larten helped stage her death and then took her away from her home after her wounds had healed. He cares dearly for her as she reminds him of his little sister Ana, whom died at the age of 7.
Thanks to this, as well as being Master and Servant(though they never refer to each other as such) Kat and Larten are very close and almost never seen without the other.
Larten took Kat to the vampire stronghold Amityville, where she was instantly thrown into trouble. Apparently there's a law against turning anyone who isnt mature enough. Larten stands by his decision and Kat is allowed to stay.
As mentioned before, Kat rarely leaves Larten's side, which has resulted in Larten having a heavy influence on the girl - which is why this image shows her displaying Larten's signature grin, but with a more sweet tone instead of his smug one.
Thanks to Larten, Kat has found a love for music and dance. Whenever the older vampire bursts out in one of his daily musical acts, she will be more than thrilled to join him.
Despite being taken from her family and thrown into the unknown, Kat takes her new life very well, she might be the youngest vampire there, but she is grateful to have powerful friends to protect her.
Personality-wise, Kat is a bit of a tomboy, she doesnt fear getting dirty and can be quite loud, also as a result of being around Larten, she has a fierce temper and short fuse, but get on her good side and she's a nice little dork.
Despite being tomboyish, Kat enjoys wearing dresses, especially the ones Larten buy her. He makes her feel like a precious porclein doll, only that she is never afraid to rip or get dirt on her dresses, because Larten could never bring himself to be mad at her and he knows that she is quite handy so she often patches them up again, which brings a unique personality to each dress as well.
The only time one might see Kat without Larten, is when he's hunting. Larten is a so called Glutton, a rather feared kind of vampire. His bloodthirst is greater than a normal vampire's, which will cause him to not only drink the blood of his prey, but also devour the entire body. He also has a tendency of playing with his food, taunting them with eerie songs as he lures them into traps. This is something Larten knows would terrify the living end out of Kat, which is why he refuses to let her join him during hunts.
I think that's a good start on her! :) I will have more the next time I draw her, or Larten, we'll see.
Might also have to make a post about my vampires since they differ quite alot from classic vampires.
