These convenings of Museum professionals are a great way to learn from (or sometimes kvetch with) our colleagues who face similar challenges at other cultural institutions around the country–or the world. Last week, I was fortunate enough to represent JMM at the annual conference of the Council of American Jewish Museums.

The brilliant #MashaGessen spoke to #CAJM colleagues today about #Truth and #Democracy and scary similarities between #Putin and the #OrangeCheeto. Speaking to a museum crowd she noted their embrace of #mediocrity as the #RulingAesthetic (as favored in the #SovietEra) and warned of the distraction of #ShinyObjects in the #Cacophony (such as illegal votes or microwave wiretaps). #StayVigilent #strongertogether #SupportTheMedia #TruthToPower (at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston)
