Yawning, there wasn’t much to rouse his tired shape. Morning came late. Scratch went to bed wearing his “sleeping clothes”. Just his pants and his old ratty shirt that said “DARE” in red letters.
The Fiend scratched his neck, his eyes glancing upward. Today, he wanted for nothing. He wanted to just stay in and take the day off. No going out to steal someone else’s living.
He just wanted to stay in and rest. Besides, he wanted to make time for the other sins. Sloth was the sin of today.
He’s in the chicken now, the place was a mess. He’s eating dried bighorner jerk, dried dread and water for drink. He’s eating good compared to the rest of hungry mouths in South Vegas.
Men will, would and have killed for such feasts.
A knock at the door got him nervous, a tinged paranoid. Grabbing his gun, he spies out the peephole. Dogs and Cats, it was Spoons.
Tucking his gun away, he opened the door and greeted her.
“Why, Spoons. You’re sight a for sore eyes.”
