so. uh, back in the dawn of time, I used to run a homestuck ask blog for the salamanders of the land of wind and shade (@asksalamanders). I got out of homestuck definitively when the alpha trolls flash walking around game dropped (FOR SOME REASON...) but I still do love these guys, and more importantly so does my mum, who has supported me so much. and she missed seeing them, so here they are, doing a cake dance. sorry for homestuck on main!
Wow, Changing the color of the outline really brings out a different style. AND I LIKE IT! Now its time to go around the interwebs looking for color pallets!
Frank only has one hour to get ready for his Birthday date with Jessie. Can he get dressed and meet her on the rooftop on time for the big scoop? Also the 7 day survivor achievement but who cares about that
The cutaways go with the lyrics so try to keep up! This is a video I made to practice using my new video editing software.

Analysis (spoilers):
Late can mean someone who has died, so the “Late date” thing can mean 2 things. So it was foreshadowing right from the get go. The whole joke is that while he may have been on time, he was still “too late” because zombies killed her. Turns out a zombie infested mall is no place for a date. But because he loves her so much no matter what, or because hes a weirdo, he still tries to have a date anyways and accepts her for who she (now) is. Now did he know she was a zombie the entire time? Thats up to the viewer lol
How this video came to be:
So heres the WHOLE story on why this video exists, as you may know, Theres an achievement where you have to survive 7 ingame days (14 HOURS STRAIGHT) without saving the game in a Non-canon mode called "Infinity" Mode. Just to compare, the main campaign takes place in 3 ingame days. You CAN pause but still, its no easy feat. Its also possible to starve to death so you can't just camp somewhere and leave it running, you have to constantly keep Frank alive. Your reward is an unlockable, so i felt this is part of 100% completion. So while I was doing that, I would watch movies, TV, and youtube videos to pass the time. While diving in the rabbit hole of youtube surfing, I rediscovered a Flash video series called "There she is", a Korean animation. I know of it because it used to be on Newgrounds 15 years ago or so. My favorite part is called "Cake Dance", the second one.
after getting that stuck in my head, I was 13 hours in and I decided to look up some guides to kill more time. I discovered a zombified version of Jessie McCarney appears in a very specific time frame, only for a few ingame hours. And sure enough, she stops spawning as you hit the 7th day. I only had one ingame hour to go see her, so I started rushing to the rooftop and then my cat hit the eject button on my system and I lost all of my progress. I didn't play the game for a few days. I was looking back on the situation and laughed because it sorta had parallels with Cake Dance, I was rushing through all crazy stuff to see mah girl. Then a few days after that, I got a new video editing program.
So needin to practice using this software, I decided to try again, but record enough footage to recreate cake dance, since I already kinda did, and make a video about it
People on youtube have uploaded videos of them getting the 7 day achievement but its just them standing around, counting the clock down, so hopefully this video is a bit more entertaining than that. So thats how this bizarre video came to be. Please enjoy lol
