Cheerio my darlings. As part of a challenge, I am instructed to post a selfie as an introduction to the face behind the cakes 😉. However, if you saw this face while actually baking cakes, she looks nothing like this 😂. Those of you that know me, know that I loathe selfie takers so I am posting this throwback 📷. I am a proud mother of 1 daughter @lrhosbey. Who is currently obtaining her PHD in Psychology (perhaps to help her crazy mother). I started this business in 2007 after winning a baking contest on KTLA (5) News. I came up with the name The Real Cake Baker in 2007 before people started using "The Real" who knew? I literally had no baking experience before I started slinging my baked goods on the street corners in Los Angeles. I taught myself EVERYTHING about baking (thank you Google & YouTube)! From there I went leggit and started selling baked goods a local farmers markets where the bulk of my customer base grew from. Then I decided to open up a shop on LaBrea and quickly learned that I was not willing to work that hard ( blessings to all bakery shop owners I respect and honor you all, that's some hard work) after 3 years, I had to quit (massive burn out). Now we operate an online catering service offering corporate, craft service and custom dessert catering. We specialize in all types of catering from traditional, vegan, sugar-free and gluten-free desserts. Everything we make is made from scratch! Simply put if you order it (& you have the $$$), we can make it 😉. My hobbies are.........(using extra dots like the Prez) spending time with my parents (mostly my momma because my dad is a 90 year old track coach who is never home 😂😂😂) I love comedies and I am an activist for the homeless community.
