Pre-emperor Morty in my mind is more of a personality shift and expression shift than an actual change in his body or face. He slightly more focused, more energy to him, not happy cuz life is still fucked up and what happened to him will never go away really but, he has people to kill and people to save but, more hopeful for maybe there is an end, maybe even a brighter future with his friends and the people he has come to call his own. He feels more approachable something that is dangerous but on your side, so not as frightening as he could be.

AND THEN THERES TYPON!! This dude is riding high. Life is hard. They live on a poison world. He is a pariah. He’s got nightmares that come to life, but he’s got a buddy now he’s not the weirdest person in the room anymore. It’s his 10 foot tall war machine that can walk talk and murder overlords! Life sucks, but maybe it can suck less in the future and if he dies trying to reach that future, maybe it will be worth something. And now someone might even miss him.
