So with Monster Prom Reverse, we have the NEW Color Crew - Zoe, Damien, Calculester, and Dahlia! How do you think these four function as a group of friends?
Well, we already have Damien and Dahlia’s rivalry, so Zoe and Calc spend most of their time hanging out making sure one doesn’t maim the other (or rather Calculester does. Zoe always has a bag of popcorn ready for any ensuing fight.)
Speaking of, the two new kids at Spooky High are at least thankful to have, “bullies,” (that’s an old English term for someone like a bodyguard, but using the same tactics a bully does to protect the people they’re guarding) willing to beat up transphobes, roboracists, and the like. They themselves are close because of how… different they are from their peers, and how they both wanna learn so much. You know what, though? They wouldn’t have it any other way.
Damien was essentially responsible (along with any one of the PCs) for creating Calculester, yet there’s no, “I am forever in your debt,” relationship that most similar stories have. The relationship they do have is still interesting: Calculester trying to be the voice of reason to Damien’s constant delinquency and debauchery, Damien trying to convince his robo friend to lighten up, et cetera.
The girls are incredibly close! Zoe and Dahlia are each other’s spotting partners at the gym, and they get together once a week for a creative writing seminar. Zoe tries to get Dahlia dolled up on certain occasions, but only managed to get Dahlia in a dress once.
Damien and Zoe have a big-brother/little-sister type of relationship (despite the fact that Zoe is as old as time itself and Damien’s 21). She constantly teases him about everything (but always in an affectionate manner), he playfully picks on her. But both will make your life hell if you decide to pick on the other.
As for Dahlia and Calculester? Dahlia tried to get her robot friend swole… to no avail. But Calculester is appreciative of Dahlia’s efforts regardless. Then again, it’s not like he needs to be swole to be a weapon. Dahlia never ceases to be surprised by her robot friend.
