Did you know The Famous Victoria Memorial was painted Black ? Why ? . I was shocked too . I came across this fact on a journal few days back , where the it stated that during the WW II , in 1943 Japanese were bombing Calcutta the Kidderpore Docks, Manicktala Market ( the bomb was a dud😏) Near the Dunlop tyre Factory . The Victoria which was easily visible even on a full moon night was dipped in a paint of black - Solution ! It was black for a short period of time. But its true , photographic proofs states such !
