Mack Has Some Good News and it Leaves Aaron Devastated.

"Oh my God Aaron" said Gail excitedly "Have you seen the size of those diamonds in the ring Gino is wearing?"
"What you on about now Gail?" Aaron asked feeling exasperated at Gail flapping about. He turned round to look at Gino when Mackenzie came into the pub with Isla and sat next to Gino.
"Gail noticed my ring and I think she's said something to Aaron" said Gino.
" Good. People need to know how happy we are. If you watch Isla I'll order some drinks" said Mack.
"Can I have a bottle of your best Champagne Gail?" asked Mack when he got to the bar.
"What's the occasion?" Gail asked.
"We're celebrating our engagement Gail" said Mack.
Aarons face dropped as he clung onto the bar to stop himself from falling.
"You ok Aaron?" asked Mack "You need to take more water with it"
"How lovely. When's the wedding?" asked Gail.
"As soon as" Mack answered.
"I dont feel too good Gail" said Aaron "I need to sit down"
"You've gone as white as a sheet" said Gail following Aaron to the back room.

"No" Aaron replied breaking down. "My life is over Gail" cried Aaron "I thought we would make progress after I apologised in front of everyone and he goes and does this"
"I'll go get you a glass of Brandy Aaron" said Gail "It's good for shock".
"How could he Gail" Aaron sobbed clinging onto Gail.
"Just let me get your brandy and I'll be back" said Gail hurrying back into the bar.
"What's up with Aaron?" Caleb asked Gail as she came into the bar.
"He's devastated coz Mack and Gino are getting married" Gail replied.
"You're kidding me" said Caleb "Did you hear that Bear?"
"Yes and someone has to talk some sense into Mack before he makes the biggest mistake of his life" said Bear.
"Wasn't Aaron the biggest mistake of his life then?" asked Ruby.
"Of course not" said Bear "Aaron is the love of Macks life"
"Well that's not true obviously as he's all over his glamorous boyfriend" said Ruby "Never a dull moment in this village and to think I wanted to leave. Who needs Netflix when they can get a front row seat of all the drama you can muster in the village pub and cafe"
"Dear God" Ethan said to himself listening to Ruby who was interupted by Calebs phone ringing.

"I don't know what I pay people for" she moaned. "Hope you're not staying here all day, there's a pile of washing to be done at home. And call into David's were running out of baked beans"
"OK I'll go home and do the washing now" Mack answered.
"What's it like living in paradise?" Caleb sarcastically asked Mack as he went to leave.
"Great" said Mack tryjng to put on a brave face.
"Good Morning Mack" said Eric as Mack went into the shop. "Before you ask we're out of baked beans. Charity bought us out"
"Thank God for that" said Mack "I'll have that piece of steak and some onions and spuds. Charity's working all day so I'm cooking for myself today"
Mack made his way to his car but was stopped by Tracey.
"Hi Mack. Haven't seen you for ages. Come in for a coffee, Nate's at home" said Tracey. "You haven't been to the bar recently"
"Well I know you are doing a great job at keeping it afloat" Mack answered.
"How are you mate" said Nate as Mack came in with Tracey. "You look well down in the dumps. Charity not treating you right?"
"Yes honestly" Mack answered.
"Come on. We can see you're not right Mack. Out with it" said Tracey
"Well the sex is good but everything else is shite" said Mack. "But its not just that. It's everything"
"Yes we heard about her lack of cooking skills" said Tracey.
"You need to get rid Mack" said Nate. "She's turning you into a Stepford husband"
"Do you love her Mack?" Tracey asked.
"God no!" Mack replied.
"Then get rid of her" said Tracey.
"Easier said than done" Mack replied.
"You need to get rid before she grinds you down completely man. She's only using you for sex" said Nate. "Just pack all her things in a black bag and put them on your front lawn. She'll soon get the hint"
Mack went home and cooked his steak and watched TV until Charity came home.
"Hi babes" she said as she walked through the door. Miss me?"
"Yes" Mack replied.
"Well you could be a bit more enthusiastic" Charity answered.
"Sorry. I was miles away" said Mack wishing he could pluck up the courage to end it.
"Well Aaron and Lucy kept away" said Charity "They must have taken the hint"
"Aaron's still my husband though Charity" said Mack.
"Well can you please refrain from reminding me" said Charity "Once you divorce him we can get married"
"I haven't proposed to you yet though" said Mack.
"Well don't let a little thing like that stop us" said Charity "It's a foregone conclusion. We were meant for each other"
"Not if I can help it" Mack thought to himself.

"Mum how did we get into this mess" said Aaron "Everytime I see him or Isla I lash out coz it hurts"
"I know son" said Chas "Look why don't you ask him if you can see Isla at least. Eve really misses her"
"Yeah she keeps asking me when is she coming back" said Aaron. "Its heartbreaking"
"Mack has to accept that Isla is your daughter as well" said Chas "You adopted her and you have a legal right to see her"
"I think he's frightened of letting me have access in case I will keep her" said Aaron. "And I admit I'd be tempted"
"It's worth a try Aaron" said Chas "I know how much you love that little girl"
"I'll think about it" said Aaron. "That's if the cops don't haul him in again"
"Can't see that happening you gave him a good alibi" said Chas.
"Plus the fact no way was he capable of pushing Caleb" said Aaron.
