FIX: Caledos Runner crashes after Windows 10 August 2017 update

guys, as many of you have discovered, many gps tracking apps (Caledos Runner included) stop working after latest Microsoft cumulative update.

Waiting that Microsoft releases the fix to all device, we have found a workaround: join the insider program and switch to "slow ring".

Prerequisites

If you haven’t already, register as a Windows Insider and check that Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview supports your language preferences and device types.

Back up your phone

Before installing an Insider Preview build, we recommend backing up your phone.

Go to Settings > Update & Security> Backup

Enroll your phone

(1) Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program, click Get Started.

(2) Under “Pick and account to get started”, click the “+” icon to link an account and click the account that you used to register for the Windows Insider Program.

(3) Click Continue

(4) Select your desired Insider level SLOW

(5) Reboot the device 

(6) Go to Settings > Update & security > Phone update, and click Check for updates.

the app is still in preview, because some feature is still missing like integrated media player and interval training edit, but it sports also some new exiting feature like support for peeble watch and Microsoft band 1 and 2

Caledos Runner v3.7 released

Caledos runner V3.7 for Windows Phone 8.1 and 10 is available for download on Windows Phone’s Store.

In this version

Interval training editor (Caledos Premium subscribers only)

As always other minor bug fixing

Now Caledos Premium subscribers can design their custom workout thanks to the integrated workout editor available on the start activity page.

Form the editor, now is possible to edit and modify the 5 default workouts default and/or create new ones.

Create your custom workout and let us know if there is anything we can do make caledos runner still better!

Endomondo for Windows on hold? Go to Caledos Runner!

Endomondo reportely putting its windows phone development on hold?

Maybe is the time to look for an alternative, and here at Caledos lab we're ready to help you: But because we know how boring is a fitness tracking app without data, in this post you can find how can you import all your Endomondo data in Caledos!

Step 1: Create a RunKeeper Account: you will use it as bridge to Caledos!

TIP: you can use a fake email address because RunKeeper doesn't require a verification!

Step2: go to https://tapiriik.com/

Tapiriik is a *fantastic* tool that allows to move (for free) your data from a fitness account to another!

Connect your Endomondo account and your temporary RunKeeper account to Tapiriik, as shown below

now the funny part: click on the button in the middle (with 3 arrows): "Syncronize now"

you will see the following message:

Sit back and relax... Tapiriik is doing (sloowly) the dirty job for you: he is copying all your Endomondo data to RunKeeper! If you do now want to wait, you can subscribe for 2$ to Tapiriik automatic syncronization, the are doing a great job, buy them a coffee and in a flash the work is done...

Once completed, you can go to your windows phone and download Caledos Runner.

In Caledos go to settings > user and create your Caledos Cloud account.

your running app now is sad and empty, so go to Caledos > settings > share > RunKeeper and connect Caledos with your temporary RunKeeper Account.

Done!

Sit back and relax again (this is the last time, even if Caledos Runner is incredibly faster then Tapiriik :-)

Ta-dah! all your Endomondo activities are now in Caledos.

Because you do not need RunKeeper anymore, you can disconnect it via Caledos > Settings > share > RunKeeper > disconnect
