If you or a loved one usually receives CalFresh food assistance and is a San Francisco resident, San Francisco's human services agency is setting up emergency stop-gap aid that can be used at grocery stores. Same restrictions apply as for CalFresh (can't use the aid to buy alcohol, e.g.).

Hundreds of thousands of people in the Bay Area rely on CalFresh, the state’s version of SNAP, which is now directing people to seek out food banks in their area. For families, this delay in benefits can mean making impossible decisions between rent, medicine and food.
Around 2 million of the state’s 5.5 million CalFresh users are children. And in light of this need, restaurants across the Bay Area are already offering free or discounted meals to families affected by the delay to CalFresh benefits.
