As many of you know, damn near the entire state of California, as well as Oregon are currently engulfed in flames. The latest big one being the Creek fire near Fresno. The fire erupted and spread very quickly. CAL FIRE, couldn't do it on their own with them already being spread so thin due to hundreds of fires currently scorching California. CAL FIRE then tried to call off the NG because it was too dangerous to attempt rescues. The California Nation Guard did not back down. Using radar, night vision and whatever tools they had at their disposal, They were able to rescue 200 people stuck in that fire. It was 2 pilots. One piloting a Black Hawk and the other a Chinook chopper. The people and their crews deserve a Distinguished Flying Cross medal and so so much more. These brave people, looked death straight in it's fiery face and said no, not today. The are beyond amazing people and give me a spark of hope for the human race. The pictures from these fires are terrifying, the skies here and all over are like an apocalypse they are so orange and smokey. TO Chief Warrant Officer 5 Joseph Rosamond &CW5 Kipp Goding as well as to your flight crews, We Salute you! Yous are absolute heroes and what bravery truly looks like. #californiaisonfire #calfire #california #creekfire #calguard #californianationalguard #homestead #homesteading #fire #thcalgaurd https://www.instagram.com/p/CE8hmKxgEU1/?igshid=1cxc32dsxz6qo
